## Naloxone Distribution We are partnering with [CFRP (Community First Responders Program)](https://web.uri.edu/cfrp/) to distribute naloxone (Narcan). Our contact with CFRP is Katie Ahern ([catherine.ahern@uri.edu](mailto:catherine.ahern@uri.edu)). We are required to track distribution of naloxone out of the shop, with the recipient’s city / zip code and number of kits distributed. There is also space for demographic information (age, ethnicity) that they’d like us to collect if possible, but it is optional. We do not require or ask for personally identifiable information like name or exact address. We do not need to track fentanyl test strip distribution, those were provided to us separately. We can reach out to CFRP if we’d like to request more and they’ll connect us with that org. ### In-shop Standard Operating Procedure 1. Mark the date and number of kits being distributed on the form. 2. Have the recipient fill out the form with the required information (their zip code, city) and optionally the other demographic information (race/ethnicity, age, and gender identity). 3. Put the completed form in the “Completed Narcan forms” folder in the drawer. CFRP asks that we get through 80% of our supply before requesting more – for reference, we started out in January 2025 with 72 kits. They track this via an online portal that we self-report naloxone distribution – LLBC member Bekah will own this task by occasionally collecting the completed forms, entering that info into the online portal, and recycling the completed forms. ### Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) For “number of kits” on the form, is that referring to the number of doses, or boxes? The number of boxes (each box has multiple doses). If the recipient is taking a few kits with the intent of giving away to someone in their community, whose demographic information do they put down? Please collect the demographic information of the person actually taking the naloxone out of the shop. How many kits can I give away to a single person? Ideally one or two max. If it’s more than that, please gather more details about why they need more – we can still give them away, but if someone is asking for 5+ kits for distribution in their community, it would be a good opportunity to connect them with CFRP directly rather than go through us.
